Harrington believes that, as an artist, it is also important to be truthful to what's in front of you in order to bring a certain sense of honesty to artistic observations.
And, for collectors, Harrington hopes that their experience in looking at the work is similar to this experiences while painting them. "Ultimately, I want them to see and feel what I saw when I was painting them, " says Harrington. "And, to recognize a certain level of draftsmanship." "Patient
observation reveals reality, then we are free to interpret imaginatively,
" says Harrington. "God is in the variety, I'm astonished at the
diversity and beauty of the human form. What excites me is contrasting
the linear, architectural elements of a room to the curvilinear
forms and individual characteristics of people. People always inspire
the work.
