Truthful Elegance by Stacy Briggs continued
His
portrait work is very highly regarded, with one of Maria Callas,
used to promote the Tony Award-winning play “Master Class,”
auctioned off to benefit the Metropolitan Opera in New York.
Then,
there’s golf. The former Golf Magazine illustrator has created
portraits of Payne Stewart and Ben Hogan that hang at the Muirfield
Village Golf Club in Ohio, and more than 20 others are in the permanent
collection at the World Golf Hall of Fame in St. Augustine, Fla.,
including the latest which helped celebrate Monday’s induction
ceremony.
Thirty oils, highlighting the career of Jack Nicklaus, have been
purchased by his museum. Recent commissions include a portrait of
Wilbur Ross and
murals featuring golfers Greg Norman and Padraig Harrington installed
in the entry halls and dining room at Doonberg Golf Club on the
coast in County Clare, Ireland, earlier this year.
